We know that Duckweed is an unsightly and potentially dangerous problematic weed, and the small circular leaved plants rapidly divide to cover the entire surface area of the pond. This cuts out the light, killing any submerged aquatic plants and also disguises where water starts and ends, being potentially dangerous to wildlife, pets and children.
